About the billing cycle

Solarius offers flexible billing designed to support both individual users and organizations. This page explains how your billing cycle works, including metered usage, volume-based pricing, and prorating for mid-cycle changes.

All billing can be managed through your Solarius Identity dashboard, or at the dedicated billing portal.

Billing basics

Solarius charges based on your selected products and any additional usage tracked throughout the billing cycle. Charges are issued monthly by default, but custom arrangements may be available for enterprise clients.

You can view your billing history and download invoices from the Billing section of your Solarius Identity dashboard.

Pricing models explained

1. Metered usage

You are charged based on actual usage over the billing period. This applies to:

  • Compute time
  • API requests
  • Bandwidth or data storage
  • Function executions
  • Other variable resources

Your usage is tracked in real time and billed at the end of the cycle.

2. Volume-based pricing

For certain products, pricing decreases as you consume more. You are charged based on tiered pricing brackets. Example:

  • First 0-100,000 calls: $0.010 per call
  • Next 100,001-500,000 calls: $0.008 per call
  • Over 500,000 calls: $0.005 per call

This incentivizes higher usage by reducing the per-unit cost as you scale.

3. Prorated charges

When you upgrade, downgrade, or cancel a service mid-cycle, we apply prorated charges or credits automatically. This ensures:

  • You pay only for the time you used a feature or plan
  • You receive fair credit for unused time on downgrades

This applies to both subscriptions and usage-based plans.

Users vs organizations

Individual users

  • Billed based on services you personally subscribe to
  • Only your personal usage is counted toward billing
  • Payments are tied to your user account in Solarius Identity

Organizations

  • Billed collectively based on all member usage
  • Usage includes services across the entire workspace
  • One billing admin manages payment methods and receives invoices
  • Shared quotas and volume discounts apply across the organization

If you're an organization owner, you can assign a separate billing contact or request a custom billing cycle via billing support.

When billing occurs

  • Billing date is based on the date you first activated a paid product or service
  • You will be charged automatically at the end of each billing period
  • A detailed invoice is issued for each period, including:
    • Itemized charges for all services used
    • Applicable taxes and fees
    • Payment instructions and due date

Payment methods

See the Payment Methods page for details on how to add, update, or remove payment methods in your Solarius Identity account.
